Many of the telescopes are availables for the public in the observative evenings.

Mars Express "curioserà" all'interno di Phobos, satellite di Marte
La sonda Mars Express è attualmente impegnata in una serie di 12 passaggi ravvicinati (fly-by) su Phobos, il più grande satellite di Marte, in ciascun passaggio usera un diverso strumento per acquisire nuove informazioni su questa roccia spaziale.__Mercoledi sera, nel passaggio più vicino, ad una distanza di soli 67 km, farà un tracciamento radio che permettera ai ricercatori di scrutare all'interno della misteriosa luna (fonte ESA).
VAMPIRI SPAZIALI
Il diagramma di Hertzprung-Russel è una linea curva lungo la quale si trovano disposte la maggioranza delle stelle in funzione della loro età ed evoluzione.__Ve ne sono però alcune, denominate "vagabonde blu", che non rispettano questa regola ed a dispetto della loro vetustà, superiore ai 10 miliardi di anni, si trovano tra le stelline giovani giovani.__Il motivo principale di questo comportamento, identificato da un gruppo di astronomi bolognesi studiando l'ammasso globulare M30, risiede nel fatto che queste stelle "succhiano" idrogeno da un altra stella e mantengono così la loro energia a livello praticamente invariato: una sorta di veri e propri vampiri spaziali (fonte Le Scienze)

Ecco le prime immagini inviate dalla missione Nasa Wise (Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer). Si tratta di quattro nitide istantanee che forniscono un primo assaggio di quello che il telescopio potrà inviare nei prossimi anni. Wise ha due principali compiti: osservare l'intera volta celeste nelle frequenze degli infrarossi e scoprire nuovi asteroidi, comete e altri oggetti celesti.In questa foto, la galassia a spirale Andromeda, lontana 2,5 milioni di anni luce [www.republica.it]
